Kindest restaurant owners who make you feel at home and taken care of. The food is not anything “fancy” or your typical instagramable food, but it’s much better. It feeds your soul and leave you feeling happy and satisfied. The monkfish is like nothing I’ve tasted before, and I grew up eating seafood everyday. The rice dish made us scrape the bottom of the pot wishing for more. If you are in the area you need to go taste these traditional dishes cooked by Alberto. It is really amazing.
Dining at O Alberto's is definitely one of the highlights of our holiday in Lagos,Alberto is a joy to watch in the kitchen, so efficient and superb quality.Odette is lovely, great service and always looks after us very well! Hope to be back soon.
Best meal we've had in Portugal. It's hard to put it into words that do it justice. You have to order a cataplana and then you'll understand. The lovely woman who served us had been there for 30 years, the cook for 34. The pride and commitment to authentic Portuguese dishes is all the marketing they need to do. Aside from our table, they appeared to know each and every customer.Cool location that's outside the more touristy zone, which only amplifies the experience.
Lovely family restaurant, off the beaten path and visited by locals. We had the monkfish cataplana and it was cooked to perfection! Very reasonable prices too and generous portions
5 stars are not enough to review this special restaurant. It's a typical portuguese family restaurant with open kitchen. Alberto is an amazing chef and Odette, his wife, is a super nice, kind and energic lady that manages the dining room with a great hospitality. We took a special and amazing Cataplana de peixe, it was incredible!! I really reccomend it for the atmosphere created by Odette and for the special portuguese food for sure!!
Amazing Portugese Steak. Very friendly staff. Could tell a lot of love went into the food. Very tourist friendly, come here if you want some authentic Portuguese food.
Remarkable find in a coastal town filled with plethora of seafood, pasta and hamburger restaurants. Remarkable seafood offerings that are perfectly prepared in a 3 person staff. Alberto (chef), sous chef and the front of house wife Soup of the day simple and delicious, shrimp avocado salad was good, but the prize was monkfish cataplana - filled with monkfish ( firm & fresh) shrimp and clams in a delicious broth with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes- dish was enough for three Shrimp stew was equally good.Recommend dressing up a little and leave the hats at home
Note:Restaurant opens at 19:00/7 pm. Not like google says. Was there 10 mins before the restaurant opened. The proprietors were so nice to already seat me and take my order.Ordered frango na brasa piri-piri. Was hot, fresh snd very delicious. The right amount of spicy.Followed the recommendations on the quality of the food and was not disappointed. For desert you can choose from the display and I had the torta de claras. Another delight.Warm service, delicious food and reasonable priced.Muito obrigado à Senhora da Casa e ao cozinheiro!
